When ten Sunderland residents were challenged to immerse themselves in the unfamiliar world of Modern Art, they were initially skeptical about what they would find to like in this seemingly exclusive club.

Could they really learn to love an abstract sculpture? Would their thoughts and feedback about the art be welcomed by those ‘in the know’? Is it possible they could leave the experience feeling excited and inspired by contemporary art?
